TOSCANA IGT - 2005


 

Grape varieties: 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot

Vineyards characteristics: Vineyards situated in the Chianti area on a medium-height hillsides with excellent exposure. Vines planted in a moderately compact soil.

Vinification: Traditional method, in steel vats with floating caps for 15 days at a controlled temperature (30șC). The must is left on the skins for a further period of 10 days to obtain the best extraction of polyphenols.

Refinement: An average period of 6 months in large Slavonia oak casks before bottling, followed by a further refinement in the bottle for no less than 4 months.

Conservation: The wine is suitable for medium-term ageing (6-8 years).

Organoleptic characteristics: A wine of distinct character with a lively, pomegranate red colour and shades of purple.

An intense bouquet, very fine fruity with hints of spices, a smooth, intense and round flovour.

Recommended serving temperature: 18-20șC)

Serving suggestions: Excellent with strong red meats, game and cold cuts.

Availability: in 0.75 litre bottles.
